About Karama Connection

Connie Naber at St. Lucia

Karama Connection can trace its roots back to a vacation taken in 2005. That was the year our executive director, Connie Naber, went on a volunteer vacation to Arusha, Tanzania. While in Arusha she met Winfrida Mwashala. A Tanzanian nurse, Winfrida had just started St. Lucia; a hospice for those dying of AIDS. Watching the daily struggles of Winfrida and St. Lucia to provide even the most basic of care to its residents, Connie founded Karama Connection on her return from Arusha. In that short time, Karama Connection has realized an impressive list of accomplishments.

Karama Connection's ability to make such a positive impact at St. Lucia is a testament to it's talented and committed board of directors.
