A Night of Building Hope
The second Karama–Rama, our annual fundraiser, was held at Crossroads Community Church on November 10, 2007. Guests were able to bid on items at our silent auction while enjoying wine, beer, Hors d'oeuvres, and music by "The Connections".
Last year, Karama–Rama raised $35,000 which was used to help finish construction on St. Lucia's new building. Funds raised from this year's event will be used to help St. Lucia purchase a car. This will considerably lower expenses as they will no longer need to hire a car to trasnport the children to and from school and the hospital. This will be bring St. Lucia one step closer to becoming self–sustaining. In addition, we are investigating the use of biogas and solar panels for energy for the house. To help generate much needed income we are considering selling milk produced by same cows that will produce the biogas.
